Our take
I would book GEC for a budget-friendly stay near Zagreb with more leisure than its category suggests. An 8.6 score from more than 500 reviews backs it up, and the outdoor pool, hot tub and garden give families something to do on site. Free breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a restaurant cover the practical side. Rooms are simple, so guests who want design or a city-centre address should look at hotels in central Zagreb instead.
- ✓Take advantage of the outdoor pool and hot tub for a relaxing afternoon.
- ✓Enjoy the complimentary breakfast each morning to start your day right.
- ✓Utilize the free Wi-Fi to plan your local excursions or stay connected.

- Relaxing garden for quiet moments
- Kid-friendly atmosphere for families
Why guests love itGEC is a down-to-earth guesthouse in Zaprešić with an outdoor pool and a hot tub, two things children usually remember from a trip. Breakfast is free and Wi-Fi is complimentary, and the restaurant means no search for dinner after a long day. The garden gives everyone room to spread out. Rooms are no-nonsense rather than stylish, so I would book it as a budget-friendly family base near Zagreb where the pool does most of the entertaining.
