Juras Country House puts the pool front and centre: it opens onto the surrounding hills rather than a fence, and the sun terrace next to it is built for full days outside rather than an hour before dinner. The sauna and hot tub sit close enough to use straight after a swim, and the garden gives small children room to run that a coastal apartment rarely offers. Inside, the villa spreads across two bedrooms and three bathrooms, useful for two families sharing rather than squeezing into one bathroom queue. The Spomenik NOB memorial is just over a mile away, and Zagreb's cathedral is a manageable 21 miles for a day out.
